Tommy woke up Saturday morning and jumped out of bed. He did not
bother with getting dressed or taking a shower. This was his day,
and he would wear what he pleased.
Tommy flew down the stairs, touching only every third step. He turned
the bend and went into the kitchen. Tommy reached up to the shelf,
as high as he could reach, and got down a huge, metal cooking bowl.
He spun around and opened the counter and pulled out a box of his favorite
cereal, the most sugary ever made. He emptied the box into his bowl.
He then poured in the milk, and it looked think and rich as it flowed over
the marshmallows and chocolate chunks. Then he reaches into a drawer
and pulls out his spoon.
Balancing carefully the huge, heavy bowl in his arms, he slowly walked
into a room with a large Television against one wall. Tommy sat down
on the floor with the bowl in front of him. He clicked on the television
and settled in to enjoy himself with his cartoons.
Scooby Doo came on first, and then the Tom & Jerry Show, that was a
good one. Finally! What Tommy has been waiting for, The Bullwinkle
& Rocky Show. Tommy laughed and smiled as he watched Bullwinkle
try and pull a rabbit out of his hat, and when Mr. Peabody rearranged history.
As the curtains closed and the credits began rolling for the Bullwinkle
and Rocky Show, Tommy stood up. He felt all the stress of his week
gone. He picked up his bowl and brought it into the kitchen to rinse
it out.
The next day, 28 year-old Tommy Ferguson, CEO of Ferguson Industries, strolled
into his office, much as he does every week. He leaned back in his
leather chair and thought, “Its good to be young.”
